Just realized they changed maybe the most important scripture in the bible.
by Crazyguy ini just read the scripture then went and checked in thier older bible and it read the same so i check the greek interlinear and yes they changed john 3:16 .
the verse reads "all who believe in him should not perish but have everlasting life" the cult version says "exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life".. so not only do they say one must exercise faith meaning having to work for it but also they changed should not perish but having everlasting life to might not be destroyed again making a caveat where one does not exist.
just to add to the point verse 18 in both bibles says the one having faith is not judged, totally blowing up thier version of 16 but of course they change 18 to say exercising faith too but it makes little difference, since it says not judged.

Thanks for this.
This deviates from all other versions translated by ACTUAL SCHOLARS.

Beware the apologists here who will say "I agree with the witnesses on this one." They are not scholars and still unknowingly drinking the koolaid.

He is simply "accused" and not found guilty of anything yet. But seeing as how he was removed as an elder something must have happened.
You better believe the org knows if there are other victims, and if there are, they are being contacted to make sure they say nothing to police.

BUENA PARK – A South Carolina man who worked as a teacher at a private school in Long Beach a decade ago has been arrested by Buena Park police officers on suspicion of the “continuous sexual abuse of a child” who was a student of his, authorities said today.
Jason Gorski of Fort Mill, 43, was arrested on June 21, said Buena Park police Sgt. Mike Lovchik. The victim was a boy who was 12-15 years of age at the time of the alleged sexual abuse.
“Gorski worked as the male victim’s school teacher and as an elder within their Jehovah’s Witness church congregation,” Lovchik said.
“The sexual abuse occurred from 2007 to 2009 while the victim was ages 12-15,” Lovchik said. “The abuse came to an end when it was reported to the Jehovah’s Witness church, but it was only recently reported to authorities. Gorski moved to South Carolina shortly after the disclosure.”
Lovchik said his department was conducting the investigation because crimes allegedly committed by Gorski occurred in Buena Park.
According to Lovchik, Gorski worked as a teacher at Southwestern Longview Private School, at 4747 Daisy Ave. in Long Beach, for about three or four years, ending when the school closed for business at the end of the school year in 2007.
Gorski attended the Jehova’s Witness Cypress congregation at 8542 Watson St. in Cypress for several years, and was appointed as an elder of the congregation in May 2007, Lovchik said.
“After the disclosure (of the sexual abuse) in 2009, Gorski was removed as an elder, but continued to attend services at the congregation,” Lovchik said.
Around 2010, Gorski moved to South Carolina, and became part of a nearby Jehovah’s Witness congregation in North Carolina, Lovchik said.
“Over the years many children have been exposed to Gorski, specifically during his time as a schoolteacher and church leader,” Lovchik said.”It is believed that additional victims may exist who have not yet reported their abuse to authorities.”
Additional victims, or people with knowledge of Gorski’s alleged abuse, were urged to call the Buena Park Police Department at 714-562-3963.

Missionary in Asia works part time as teacher told by Bethel hand over pay check!!
by Witness 007 inthey only way this minsterial school grad missionary could get a visa was as an "english teacher" so he got a job part time and pioneered the rest of the time.
he was very upset when bethel told him his wage for english teaching belongs to them!!!
he had expenses living in this asian land and had no family support, but bethel thought his small watchtower "reinburstment" was enough.

as already pointed out, it's right in the vow of poverty:
6. To turn over to the local organization of the Order all income received from any work or personal efforts in excess of my necessary living expenses, unless released from this vow by the Order;
I know at least 5 brothers in different countries who paid their monthly salary to the branches. It happens in restricted countries where missionaries have to work to get a visa.
How strictly it's enforced depends on the branch you're under.

Can confirm - this absolutely happens.
Many times the money they get from secular work is more than their stipend from the Society. WT turns a profit!
HM was the wt wage?
In Asia? Depends on his status and the time frame. A clever missionary could get up to $700 USD/month in reimbursement if he knew how to ask and what to ask for.
If they made him a special pioneer (which is actually for locals but in a few countries they sometimes appoint foreigners as special pioneers to save on costs) then 250-300 USD/month.

Is shunning unscriptual?
by MrTheocratic ininternational version 1 cor 5:11. but now i am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler.
do not even eat with such people.. if shunning is wrong.
.how does one explain this scripture?.

"anyone who claims to be a brother or sister" - this is not talking about someone formerly baptized who decides they want nothing to do with the religion
this is about someone who "claims" to be an active, practicing witness so that they can carry on these practices within the congregation

What strange things are taught at MTS?
by Londo111 ina few years before i woke up, a young man in my congregation went to ministerial training school.
he began to speak about some of the things he had learned.
one of the things mentioned was that of incubus or succubus, that is to say, sex demons.

A demon did take the form of C.T. Russell and have relations with the unbelieving wife of an Australian brother:
Brother Nicholson, of the Australian branch, writes us of an astounding circumstance. One of the Australian Brethren has a wife who is neither for nor against the truth, and who professes no sympathy for Spiritism. Quite recently the brother, returning to his home, had a harrowing tale related by his wife. She declared that Brother Russell had appeared to her. (Possibly she had seen his photograph.) She declared that he made improper proposals, to which she yielded.
At such a distance it is easy enough to prove an alibi - to prove that the Editor was not there. But suppose the materialization in all of its particulars had transpired in Brooklyn, or in the Bethel home, or in any of the various cities which the Editor visits in the preaching of the gospel, or in a Pullman sleeping ear, in which he frequently travels - it is easily seen that such an alibi might be very difficult to prove in such cases. And what would be true in this respect of the Editor might be true in some respects of many of the pilgrim brethren: yea, true of all of the Lord's people everywhere.
